Rancul, en el centro de las miradas por crímenes pesados

Los tres asesinatos en los últimos tres meses en la pequeña localidad de Alberto Cortez encendieron las alarmas del Ministerio de Seguridad. Entrevista con el Jefe de la Policía y con el Jefe de la Unidad Regional II.

Ocurrieron tres asesinatos en tres meses en la pequeña localidad de Rancul, ubicada al norte de la provincia, y encendieron las alarmas del Ministerio de Seguridad. En una entrevista realizada ayer a Horacio di Nápoli, titular de esta cartera, advirtió que “estamos prestando fuertemente atención a Rancul, porque están sucedieron delitos pesados desde hace tres meses a la fecha: un doble homicidio seguido de otro homicidio, y es una localidad de muy pocos habitantes (3.600 habitantes), tener tres homicidios en tres meses es un barbaridad” (click).

El pasado 11 de noviembre ocurrieron dos brutales asesinatos a jubilados: uno de ellos, un ex intendente de 88 años, murió en su casa a raíz de una golpiza. Ahí vivía, sobre la calle Quintana, entre San Martín y Rivadavia, Héctor Ceferino Lapettina, de 88 años, quien había sido jefe comunal durante la última dictadura militar, entregándole el mando al entonces electo intendente democrático, Leandro Rochetti.

El otro asalto se produjo unas horas más tarde, a unas cinco cuadras de distancia, en un domicilio de la calle Sarmiento al 300, entre Belgrano y San Martín, donde hallaron tirado en el piso, con golpes en su cabeza, al carpintero Jacinto Atilio “Cacho” Tallone, de 79 años, quien también vivía solo.

Estos hechos sucedieron entre las 8 y las 11 de la mañana del domingo 11 de noviembre. En el primer crimen, en la casa de Tallone, los dos autores golpearon salvajemente al jubilado y se llevaron una caja de herramientas y mil pesos en efectivo. Además, cuando Tallone se encontraba tirado en el piso, abrieron la llave de gas, cerraron las puertas y se marcharon.

Luego, ingresaron a la casa de Ceferino Lapettina. Ahí lo golpearon hasta causarle la muerte. Sólo se llevaron monedas y billetes antiguos y un celular.

Tanto Tallone como Lappetina presentaban fracturas en el cráneo por los golpes recibidos. También, en las autopsias se determinó que intentaron asfixiarlos. Hubo un encubridor, a quien se lo acusa de haber facilitado la fuga y haber resguardado el celular robado. La pena que cabría en este caso sería de perpetua para los autores y de 10 años para el encubridor.

Dos meses después, el 11 de enero, en el pueblo que vio nacer al famoso cantautor Alberto Cortez (cuyas cenizas descansan en Rancul), un joven de 19 años llamado Denis Olmedo murió tras haber recibido un cuchillazo en la zona abdominal a manos de su primo, del mismo apellido, de 17 años, durante una fiesta. El muchacho fue trasladado de urgencia al Hospital Gobernador Centeno.

Mientras que su pariente, herido por un destornillador, no corrió peligro alguno. La pelea se produjo alrededor de las 22.30, a pocos metros de la plaza central, en medio de una jornada musical organizada por la municipalidad. 

Vecinos de Rancul relataron que la víctima fatal, Denis Olmedo, tuvo una vida signada por la pobreza, fue abandonado por su familia y también por el Estado. Vivía de las pocas “changas”, algún trabajo temporario que podía conseguir en un pueblo donde el trabajo es muy escaso. También contaron que sus amigos estaban involucrados en diversos hechos delictivos.

El director de radio “Del Norte” de Rancul, Eduardo Onorato, relató: “No hay contención para muchos jóvenes en nuestra localidad, el alcohol, las drogas golpean a esta comunidad. La falta de una salida laboral. Muchos niños son abandonados por los padres, algunos de ellos están a la guarda de un familiar, una abuela, pero eso no alcanza para contener a una sociedad”.

Revista BIFE se comunicó con el Jefe de la Policía de La Pampa, Roberto Ayala, y fue consultado por la situación de Rancul, a raíz de estos hechos y de las declaraciones del ministro di Nápoli. “Se viene trabajando con normalidad en Rancul, a pesar de estos tres últimos hechos. Le estamos prestando más atención es verdad, por algún déficit en número de personal también, y algunos cuestionamientos a cómo trabaja el personal allá”, expresó.

También, BIFE se comunicó telefónicamente con Cristian Salvador Dupuy, Jefe de la Unidad Regional II, quien negó que el pueblo esté atravesando una situación de peligrosidad. “Convengamos que los dos hechos que ocurrieron podrían haber ocurrido en cualquier localidad de La Pampa. Y lo otro fue una pelea de dos primos por otra cuestión. Son cuestiones que no se puede prever. Lamentablemente no se puede prever”, dijo.
