Vilboi y Blum: “El rock ya no representa a los pibes”

Una entrevista con dos de los exponentes del trap de la escena local. Las inquietudes de quienes cambiaron las guitarras por rimas y beats

En el comienzo de la ya clásica película sobre el sello Factory records y la movida “manchester”, 24 hours people (2002), el legendario Tony Wilson, interpretado por Steve Coogan, dice: “Cuando una ola llega a lo más alto, comienza su declive, y ese movimiento, automáticamente despierta a otra ola que va a ser el nuevo orden”. Con esas palabras Wilson se refería a como el punk y post punk a fines de los 70 fueron esa ola que llegó a su pico y a principios de los 80 su descenso dio lugar al madchester, con sus guitarras fusionadas con los synthes Roland 808 de Happy Mondays y New Order a la cabeza, escena que se vería desplazada años más tardes por el britpop de los hermanos Gallagher y Damon Albarn.

Esa repetición de olas se dio hasta principios de la década pasada, cuando una nueva ola emergió pero ya no dentro de la “cultura rock” como había sucedido hasta ese momento. Fue por fuera, fue la denominada “cultura urbana”, con sus raíces en hip hop y r&b quien tomó el lugar que el rock representaba generacionalmente. Y eso a esta altura ya es indudable. Atrás quedó el interés de pre adolescentes en el despertar de sus inquietudes culturales el acceder a una guitarra, hoy el interés pasa por un software  para producir beats que acompañen rimas.

Dentro de la cultura urbana los cambios de paradigma frente a la cultura rock son notables. Si el rock necesitaba de críticos en revistas especializadas para impulsar su música, el género urbano, y su mayor desprendimiento en argentina: el trap, necesita de youtubers y sus  videoreacciones en donde dan sus críticas sobre los nuevos lanzamientos. Gamers, youtubers, streamers forman parte de la órbita de la cultura urbana de manera esencial, incluso fue ahí donde se generó el slang (la jerga) del movimiento, con términos como “se picó”, “se pegó”.

“Yo toco la batería desde los catorce años, he tenido bandas de death metal, como Prission Kaos con la cual llegué a grabar un E.P., pero en un momento, allá por 2017 flashée con las batallas de rimas, con el Quinto Escalón, que fue una competencia masiva de freestyle que finalizó ese mismo año”, dice Tomás Villareal D’Atri (23), alias Vilboi, quien hace dos años dejó la batería para meterse de lleno en el trap. “Un compañero de banda, Tomi Llorens, alias Weakness, ya producía beats de electrónica, en ese momento el empezó a experimentar con beats más “traperos”, y asi fui soltándome más con las rimas. Durante un año estaba con la banda de metal y las rimas, pero termine optando por lo que más me gusta”.

Hoy el cooequiper creativo de Tomás es Gianfranco Gianini (25), alias Blum, quien también tuvo sus primeras inquietudes en el metal “Tuve mi banda de death, pero en un momento me llamó Tomi para sumarme a lo que venía haciendo con el trap y me cebé al tirar rimas”.

Durante un año estaba con la banda de metal y las rimas, pero termine optando por lo que más me gusta”.

–Cuando integrantes de otras bandas de metal con las que compartían escenario vieron que estaban haciendo trap, ¿alguno les dijo la gran Pappo “hagan música en serio”?

Blum: A mi me dijeron, “¿qué haces haciendo esas pelotudeces? dejate de joder, agarrá la guitarra. De todas maneras me chupó un huevo y seguí con la mía.

Vilboi: A mi no me lo dijeron, pero si noté resistencia dentro de la misma movida urbana. Los pibes que vienen del rap, hace unos años desprestigiaban a los que comnzabamos con sonidos propios del trap. No les caía bien que alguien se lanzara a hacer algo que escapa a lo “tradicional”, no lo tomaban en serio, de todas maneras nos re alejamos de todo ese beef (bardo).

Blum: Lo que les jodió a ellos es que un par de chaboncitos que venían del metal, de la nada, llegáramos a un palo más cercano a ellos.

Blum: A mi me dijeron, que haces haciendo esas pelotudeces dejate de joder, agarrá la guitarra. De todas maneras me chupó un huevo y seguí con la mía.

–¿Ese beef que les tiraron se manifestó en redes?

Vilboi: Sí, fue más por ese lado. La primera fecha que tocamos en vivo, en el Social, tiraron beef diciendo algunos de ellos que si no estaban esa fecha no existía.

–¿Hoy cambió esa situación?

Blum: Sí, antes eso estaba más presente. Creo que hoy en día ya la movida es una sola.

Vilboi: Y a su vez hay más pibes y pibas haciendo trap que rap.

–Acá, en la escena local prevalece el trap más genérico, el que habla de excesos y lujos. Pibes locales replican esas letras estando muy lejos de vivir esa realidad, ¿Cómo lo ven a eso?

Blum: creo que no se calientan mucho por el mensaje, riman y si la rima que habla del VIH que tiene la hermana queda bien, lo largan. Es un poco así acá. Yo no los juzgo. De hecho hice un tema que es “Vino con Pritty”, y lo hice porque me divierte. Pero es una excepción. 

Vilboi: Te podes hacer un personaje, pero a mi no me representa ese discurso materialista ni machista.

Ustedes escapan de eso e incluso tiene un estilo en el cual se permiten coquetear con un tono más humorístico, de parodia en sus letras y videos, como en el caso del tema Tomiki…

Vilboi: Intentamos de divertirnos. No nos comemos el personaje estereotipado del trap. Es un recurso más que utilizamos. Lo mismo que con la estética en los videos de 8 bits.

Blum: en el caso de Tomiki buscamos eso. Un video actuado con esos personajes. Quisimos darle ese plus.

Vilboi: Te podes hacer un personaje, pero a mi no me representa ese discurso materialista ni machista.

Posteaste algo en tus redes, Vilboi, sobre un tema que lanzaron Trueno y Wos, sobre la represión institucional, y ahí comentabas que los íconos del rock nacional hacían oídos sordos a esa situación. ¿Crees que hoy tomaron la posta del compromiso social algunos artistas del género urbano?

Vilboi: Es algo propio de la juventud. Hay un cambio generacional. El rock ya no representa a los pibes. Son pocos los artistas comprometidos dentro de la cultura urbana, eso es así, abundan los mensajes que van por otro lado, pero Wos es un claro ejemplo de un artista que aborda demandas sociales.

–Este año produjeron y lanzaron 10 temas, bajo su propio sello, Black Rose Media, ¿qué es lo próximo que se traen?

Vilboi: Yo estoy por lanzar un E.P con Fracca, otro artista de la escena local. Eso es lo próximo.

Blum: En mi caso estoy a punto de estrenar un tema con otro integrante de la familia Black Rose Media, Suicide Flex, un video lyric, que esperamos que la rompa.
