Haciendo la vertical en el cajón de los calzones

Un amigo escritor decía que los problemas de inspiración y el miedo a la hoja en blanco, son inventos. Que los temas están siempre ahí, sentados, esperando que uno los vea y los cuente. Así que acá estoy, sentada como un tema, en mi escritorio que encontré hace un par de años en una compraventa. Me gustaba, era viejo, costaba poco y lo compré aunque sabía ya que era demasiado bajo. Así que cuando llegó a casa lo primero que hice fue hacer una selección de libros malos para levantarlo. 

Encontré uno de un psicólogo famoso. Lo compré por el título y por la tapa, no sabía que él era psicólogo ni que era famoso. Leí dos capítulos y lo abandoné, siguiendo la teoría que la vida es corta para leer libros que no fueron escritos para nosotros. Años después el señor éste – precedido por su gigantesco ego – estaba en todas las transmisiones televisivas y en algunos diarios, estilo ‘no me afeito hace dos días y tengo el pelo engrasado’. Encontré después el libro de una dieta maravillosa, que tampoco leí (ni comí). Uno que se propone como método infalible para hacer que los bebés duerman toda la noche, que resultó ser un manual de tortura. Uno que me regalaron cuyo título es ‘Tu cuerpo implora agua’. Yo lo recibí y hubiera querido decir que mi cuerpo no implora nada, por empezar, porque tiene su dignidad,  además, generalmente lo escucho antes de que tenga que andar implorando, y si, al final de todo implora algo, nunca es agua. Pero agradecí nomás y acá está abajo de la pata, de lo más útil. Hay un premio Strega del 2018, con hojas pesadas como alcantarillas aunque contenga imágenes, y un par de opúsculos de Control Mental de la época en que mi hija menor se despertaba diez veces por noche (no habiendo sido torturada). Los libros de control mental no me ayudaron en nada pero fueron una de las tantas lecturas en el medio de la noche, cuando no apagaba la luz y no quería dormirme porque sabía que en media hora se despertaría de nuevo y quería ganarle de mano. 

Así que empecé a mirar alrededor buscando los temas que me están esperando. Uno de ellos es uno gordito vestido de rojo, tiene la voz estridente y se ha infiltrado en las hojas de todos los diarios y está ya publicando libros. Yo no lo conozco, se ha hablado tanto de él que ya ni sé que opinión tengo al respecto.

Cuando escribí ésta ultima frase sentí una carcajada. Era un tema sentado con las patitas colgando en el borde de mi vaso de gin tonic, se llama ‘Una opinión’. Se ríe de mí porque dice que nunca lo voy a tener. Y tiene razón. Lo cual por un lado me convierte en un invertebrado de la escritura, por otro lado me convierte en el blanco de todos los discursos políticos. Nadie le habla a los convencidos: el que tiene la camiseta de la izquierda puesta, aplaude con todo el hígado a su representante aunque esté tomando medidas de derecha, ni cuenta se da, aplaude con baba y lágrimas. Lo mismo pasa con la derecha, y así. En cambio nosotros, los sin opinión formada, los dubitativos, los permeables, somos persuasibles. Es horrible nuestra vida a veces, no siempre. Empezamos las discusiones personales y no podemos defenderlas, ya me pasó un domingo de cuarentena. Empecé discutiendo y queriéndolo echar de casa, y terminé diciendo pobre tipo, tiene razón. Me voy yo (cambiamos perspectiva, pero no comemos vidrio). Es lo que el psicólogo del pelo engrasado llama empatía. La empatía es una trampa, una porquería a la hora de formarse una opinión. El mundo de hoy exige respuestas fuertes, líderes que quieran inyectarte lavandina en la sangre para eliminar el tema anterior, no enciclopedias, wikipedias, lectura de diarios con líneas editoriales diferentes. 

No sé, por ejemplo, todavía, a los cuarenta y dos años, qué almohada me gusta más, qué consistencia me parece mejor. Así que tengo dos: una alta y dura y una blanda de pluma, y duermo a veces con una, otras con la otra, y muchas con ninguna.

Pero nos estamos yendo del tema. ¿Cuál era el tema? Acá otro levanta la mano con una bandera con la escrita FASE 2. Como sabrán, hace como dos meses que estoy sentada acá con los mismos temas de siempre, todos en cuarentena. Pero ahora llegó Fase 2 con su banderita, la boca pintada, toda seductora. Pura alaraca. El 4 de mayo la conocimos y no fue taaaan interesante como se hacía. El domingo anterior, por la noche, nos leyeron las reglas y condiciones bajo las cuales nos irían soltando. Nos costó tanto entenderlas, que al otro día publicaron las FAQ: frequent asked questions. Las preguntas que la gente hace frecuentemente sobre un tema. El tema es que la frecuencia con la cual la gente se había hecho las preguntas había sido poca, ya que el tiempo de vida del tema había sido una sola noche. Pero intensa.

Así supimos, con el decreto y las faq y un grupo de expertos en semántica y semiótica, que podíamos salir a correr lejos de casa y sin tapabocas y a hacer actividad motoria con tapabocas. Para los sedentarios como yo hacer actividad motoria es algo así como correr, pero la faq nos aclaró que en realidad sería `pasear´. O sea que se podía salir sin propósito fijo caminando de casa, y si la policía te paraba, declarar que estabas en plena actividad motoria. Supimos que en automóvil pueden ir dos personas y uno tiene que ser el conviviente (el otro deducimos que también). Las dos personas tienen que estar a un metro de distancia, por lo cual uno de los dos debe ir detrás. Pero – escuchá, ésta es genial – si en el auto va una sola persona, tiene que estar sentada al volante. Podrías salir a encontrar tus parientes hasta el sexto grado de parentela, y también otros afectos estables, siempre y cuando estén dentro de tu región. Pero entre los afectos estables no entran los amigos.  Es decir: que podés ir a ver la esposa de un primo de un tío de tu marido en un pueblo vecino, pero no podés visitar una amiga que vive a dos cuadras. Nada quita que la encuentres per caso haciendo actividad motoria por ahí. Se puede salir pero no se puede sostar. Se puede sostar en un banco del parque pero nos se puede sostar sobre una lona en el pasto. 

Los que andamos mirando para todos lados buscando tener una opinión nos encontramos con escenarios contrastantes. Estaban los que habían redescubierto el valor de las pequeñas cosas y todavía no se habían dado las respuestas sobre el sentido de la vida y pedían un alargue de la cuarentena al grito de ¡Si nos largan moriremos todos! Del otro lado, hordas de gente que el 3 de mayo se pasó la noche lustrando los zapatos y poniéndoles espuelas al grito de ¡De algo hay que morir! En el medio estaban los niños y los jóvenes (que pagarán la jubilación a todos los anteriores) pero que el copy writer (ese que le pone nombres en ingles a las distintas fases) del discurso se olvidó de nombrar, es más, ¡ni sabe que existen!

Yo salí el 4. Y también otras veces. Saqué mis hijas a respirar el mundo, y fue tan hermoso y terriblemente triste. Asomaban ojos sobre los barbijos, miradas gentiles, otras desconfiadas. Los infelices de antes son ahora las patrullas de la moral y salen con el perro a detectar grupos de jóvenes que osaron querer mirarse a la cara; a fotografiar enamorados que se encuentran y se abrazan y se besan confiando en el destino, o sin poder evitarlo, o sin querer evitarlo; amonestando ancianos que deberían quedarse a la sombra anticipando la muerte en soledad sin las risas de los nietos, la caricia de un hijo.  Van con sus teléfonos cargados al máximo fotografiando sin permiso, juzgando sin razón. Indiscutibles bajo el lema «lo primero es la salud», ignorando que el tema éste de la voz estridente y vestido de rojo no es el primero ni el último, ni tanto menos el único riesgo, ignorando las diferentes caras del morir. Pero también temiendo. Temiendo el día en que las hojas de los diarios se llenarán de otros temas y los escritores descubrirán temas escondidos a las risas haciendo la vertical en el cajón de los calzones, y los patios de las escuelas harán eco al juego de los niños, los teatros se llenarán de aplausos, los cines de besos, los museos de miradas, las noches y las calles de pasos caminando del brazo, y los bares y las pieles de entrañables reencuentros.
