Historias comunes de santarroseños de clase media que ajustan sus economías

La economía se deteriora y el consumo se achica. Una abuela que no puede darles más manteca a sus nietos. Un fiambrero que pone más fetas de fiambre para ganar unos escasos centavos que pronto se evaporarán con la inflación. Y unos padres que no pueden festejar un cumpleaños infantil en un salón, como solían hacerlo.

Hay un sector, vinculado con la masa trabajadora, padre o madre de familia, que a fuerza de prepotencia habitó una clase media media, con sus módicas vacaciones de verano, trajinando 24-7 pero dejando lugar para respetables salidas por fin de semana, sector que cuando un viento sopla lo desparrama de un lado o del otro de la delgada línea de clase media. 

La abuela de la línea 2 tiene menos esperanza que su bolsillo

Me pasó la semana pasada de estar esperando el bondy en la calle 25 de mayo, estirar la oreja y escuchar a una señora, a una típica abuela con sus pelos blancos y la expresión arrugada cuyas últimas energías son depositadas enteramente en sus nietos, aparentemente de 7 y 9 años. La escuche, mientras hablaba con otra señora, decir: “Mi hija trabaja de noche, por eso yo los despierto todos los días a la mañana a los nenes. Los despertaba siempre con una leche con dos panes para cada uno llenos de manteca y azúcar. El otro día hicimos números con mi hija y decidimos omitir la manteca, para poder pagar las cuenta, viste…”. La vieja seguía hablando afligida mientras que su compañera asentía con la cabeza, compadeciéndola. “Ayer les llevé a los nenes el desayuno a la cama, y cuando estaba saliendo por la puerta escuché a Facundo que le preguntaba a su hermano mayor: ‘¿Y los panes con manteca de la abuela’?”.

El fiambrero se hace el otario y te iguala para arriba 

Se impone todo tipo de rebusques. Un sálvese quien pueda. Cualquier ajuste, cualquier elemento que se pueda guardar en el bolsillo abreviado de la economía doméstica, es bienvenido. Por ejemplo, si uno asiste a una fiambrería el fiambrero se hará el otario y pondrá unas cuantas fetas con el objeto de igualar para arriba y hacerse unos módicos pesos más. El fiambrero no pesará el queso o la paleta, y si usted le solicita 100 gramos de cada cosa, llegado el caso tendrá que decirle “está bien, ahí nomás”, y el fiambrero mirará con nula expresión la balanza que indicará un peso superior al estipulado,  y le dirá: “quedó en 140 gramos, ¿está bien?“.

El otro día hicimos números con mi hija y decidimos omitir la manteca, para poder pagar las cuenta, viste…”

Quedan clausurados cumpleaños infantiles hasta que el padre o la madre tenga un sueldo que iguale la inflación

Parecida a la historia de la abuela, cuyos “mimos” hacia sus nietos ha tenido que dejar de hacer, pululan las situaciones de padres que tenían la economía justa y necesaria para festejar un cumpleaños infantil en un salón de fiestas. Eso está cambiando en muchas familias. Sin ser este un servicio indispensable, se retoman los festejos en las respectivas casas.
