El pasado martes, la ministra de Salud, Carla Vizzotti, anunció que, por primera vez desde el inicio de la pandemia por COVID-19, no hay ningún aglomerado urbano en alarma epidemiológica.
En diálogo con Radio Con Vos, la titular de la cartera sanitaria celebró, además, la séptima semana consecutiva registrando un descenso de los casos de coronavirus y que, por primera vez, “estamos debajo de la cantidad de internaciones que hubo en el pico de la otra ola”.
Cumpliendo el aislamiento después de su gira por el Reino Unido junto a la asesora presidencial, Cecilia Nicolini, Vizzotti remarcó, respecto a las personas fallecidas por COVID-19 que “están disminuyendo, aunque el número sigue siendo alto”.
Sobre las vacunas, comentó: “Está llegando un número importante de vacunas, vamos a poder acelerar las segundas dosis pendientes. A esta altura es más importante priorizar la vacunación con la segunda dosis, sobre todo en los mayores de 60, que seguir vacunando menores de 40. Si bien tiene su ventaja y previene alrededor del 50% la posibilidad de infección, y eso es importante, siempre hay mayor mortalidad en los mayores de 60 años con una dosis que en los menores de 40 sanos sin dosis”.
A su vez, la ministra de Salud indicó que la vacunación ya está dando sus resultados. “La proporción de personas mayores de 60/70 entre las muertes está bajando. La proporción de fallecidos con una dosis de la vacuna es menos del 1%, y con dos dosis es más baja todavía. Lo mismo pasa en las internaciones en terapia intensiva: la proporción de personas vacunadas es mucho más baja que la de personas no vacunadas”.
