El Consejo Federal de Salud (Cofesa), integrado por los ministros provinciales y nacional del área, acordó hoy completar los esquemas de vacunación en mayores de 40 años y personas con comorbilidades desde los 18 años, a partir del acortamiento a entre cuatro y ocho semanas para la aplicación de las segundas dosis, informaron fuentes oficiales.
Los funcionarios destacaron que la estrategia de vacunación que se desarrolla en todo el país es la “adecuada” y “satisfactoria”, y acordaron avanzar en el Plan Estratégico de Vacunación atendiendo las recomendaciones de los expertos de la Comisión Nacional de Inmunizaciones (Conain).
La ministra de Salud, Carla Vizzotti, y sus pares provinciales mantuvieron una videoconferencia para analizar las recomendaciones realizadas por los integrantes de la Conain, por lo que consensuaron acelerar la estrategia de completar los esquemas de inoculación con segundas dosis en mayores de 40 años y fortalecer la búsqueda activa de las personas de la población priorizada que aún no se vacunó, a través de lo que se conoce como estrategia extramuro, como la visita casa por casa.
“Después del análisis de los expertos de la Conain y el análisis de la evidencia científica destacamos que la estrategia que estamos llevando adelante es adecuada y está teniendo resultados satisfactorios”, indicó Vizzotti, según informó Salud en un comunicado.
La ministra sostuvo que van a “redoblar los esfuerzos para completar todos los esquemas de vacunación, principalmente en mayores de 40 años, y personas entre 18 y 59 años con condiciones de riesgo, realizar acciones de búsqueda activa para vacunar a quienes están teniendo dificultades en la inscripción y brindar información para quien pueda tener dudas, siempre en función de los planes estratégicos provinciales”.
Con respecto a los intervalos establecidos entre la aplicación de la primera y segunda dosis, Vizzotti indicó que “atento a las coberturas que se lograron con las primeras dosis, al actual flujo de vacunas y la importancia de completar esquemas ante el riesgo que implican las variantes de preocupación, se acordó acortar los intervalos a ocho semanas para las vacunas basadas en plataformas de vectores virales y a cuatro semanas para las vacunas desarrolladas con virus inactivado”.
Resultados del estudio de efectividad de vacunas
Durante la reunión virtual, el subsecretario de Estrategias Sanitarias, Juan Manuel Castelli, compartió los resultados del estudio de efectividad de las vacunas para reducir la mortalidad por Covid-19 en personas de 60 años y más, realizado por el Ministerio de Salud entre febrero y junio de este año.
Los resultados arrojaron que con la vacuna Sputnik V,: con la primera dosis, la efectividad es de 74,9%y con el esquema completo de 93,3%.
En el caso de Astrazeneca, con la primera dosis la efectividad es de 79,5% y con el esquema completo de 88,8%.
Mientras que con Sinopharm, la efectividad con la primera dosis es de 61,6% y con el esquema completo es de 84%.
Este análisis se realizó en meses de alta transmisión viral, incluyó casos de las 24 jurisdicciones y circulación predominante de las variantes Alpha, Gamma y Lambda.
Con este estudio se evidencia una elevada efectividad para prevenir mortalidad por Covid-19 en todas las vacunas incluidas en la estrategia de vacunación implementada por la Argentina, y se observa que la efectividad de la primera dosis de las vacunas basadas en vectores virales no replicativos se mantiene estable durante el periodo de tiempo analizado, añadieron las fuentes.
Alcance del plan de vacunación
En el país, el avance del Plan de Vacunación Covid-19 destaca que uno de cada dos mayores de 20 años recibió al menos una dosis, mientras que un 84% de la población de 50 años y más inició su esquema de vacunación.
Al analizar los grupos de edad que primero iniciaron la vacunación, el 45,8% de las personas de 80 años y el 34,7% de las personas entre 70 y 79 años completaron el esquema.
También participaron de la reunión la jefa de Gabinete del Ministerio de Salud, Sonia Tarragona; la secretaria de Acceso a la Salud, Sandra Tirado; el secretario de Equidad en Salud, Víctor Urbani; el subsecretario de Gestión de Servicios e Institutos, Alejandro Collia; la subsecretaria de Integración de los Sistemas de Salud y Atención Primaria, Judit Díaz Bazán, y la directora nacional de Epidemiología e Información Estratégica, Analía Rearte.
