El Comité Nobel Noruego aceptó la propuesta de un grupo de diputados de Bolivia para que el presidente Alberto Fernández sea candidato al Premio Nobel de la Paz por su “actitud decidida y valiente que permitió salvar la vida” del exmandatario Evo Morales y sus colaboradores y la democracia boliviana, tras ser forzados a renunciar en noviembre de 2019.
Fuentes de Presidencia informaron a Telám que, en ese contexto, Alberto Fernández mantuvo este sábado una videoconferencia, desde la residencia de Olivos, con Evo Morales, el senador Leonardo Loza y el diputado Gualberto Arispe Maita, legisladores que promueven la iniciativa junto a sus pares Santos Mamani Espinoza y Grobert Nogales Grageda, quienes representan en la Asamblea Legislativa Plurinacional al gobernante Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS).
Durante el encuentro virtual, el Presidente enfatizó: “Haría mil veces lo mismo, sólo hice lo que un hombre de bien y democrático debe hacer”. Y dirigiéndose a Morales, sostuvo: “Si en algún momento sentí que cumplí una tarea, fue cuando te abracé en el puente y volviste a tu tierra, en ese momento vi que cumplimos el objetivo. El único mérito mío fue cuidar a alguien tan querido por los bolivianos y ayudar en lo que pueda a que la democracia vuelva”.

En tanto, el exmandatario boliviano señaló: “Lo que usted hizo por Bolivia, por la democracia, por mi vida es algo inédito, algo único en el mundo. Después de que retorné algunos dirigentes me preguntaban cómo podemos agradecerle, ese era el sentimiento generalizado y así surgió la idea de presentarlo como candidato al premio Nobel de la Paz”.
Además, destacó los 11 meses que residió en Argentina, tras verse obligado a salir de su país, tras un paso por México. “Me sentí como en casa, la solidaridad y el cariño de todos los argentinos”, expresó Morales al respecto
Finalmente, el senador boliviano Leonardo Loza (MAS), sostuvo que “sin pensar dos veces hemos decidido que nuestro hermano presidente de Argentina tiene que ir al premio Nobel de la Paz por cuidar la democracia, la vida de nuestros hermanos bolivianos, de nuestro hermano Evo Morales. Por amor a la vida y a la democracia, lo mereces”.
En su propuesta, los diputados consideran que Fernández “es un jurista que siempre estuvo comprometido con la causa y la práctica de los derechos humanos en la Argentina y en América Latina” y subrayan que su accionar en apoyo de Morales y de su exvicepresidente Álvaro García Linera, “también permitió la recuperación de la institucionalidad democrática y poner fin a la persecución y discriminación que sufrieron los pueblos originarios durante el golpe de Estado del 10 de noviembre de 2019”.
En la presentación ante el Comité resaltan que “nuestra democracia le debe mucho al presidente Fernández y a su política de solidaridad activa con Bolivia”.
El Comité Nobel Noruego es responsable de la selección de candidatos y la elección de los laureados del Premio Nobel de la Paz y se encuentra integrado por cinco miembros designados por el Parlamento de ese país escandinavo.
Los candidatos al galardón deben ser nominados por personas calificadas, como los miembros de asambleas nacionales. A principios de octubre, el Comité los selecciona a través de una mayoría de votos para finalmente entregar el Premio en Oslo, el 10 de diciembre.
