Telecomunicaciones de la CPE apoyó a través de un comunicado la decisión del gobierno nacional de declarar como servicio públicos a la telefonía celular, internet y la tv por cable paga.

“Ante la decisión del Poder Ejecutivo Nacional de establecer el carácter de servicio público esencial y estratégico en competencia, a las prestaciones de telefonía móvil, internet y televisión por cable, la CPE quiere expresar por este medio su apoyo a la iniciativa. Esta decisión, avalada por la Comisión Bicameral del Congreso Nacional, crea las condiciones para garantizar el cumplimiento de más derechos”.

“La pandemia de COVID-19, ante la necesidad de realizar tareas a distancia, ha revelado como nunca la brecha digital. Esto es, que no todos tenemos el mismo acceso a la tecnología y la conectividad, ni los medios para acceder a ellas. La circunstancia del aislamiento social, preventivo y obligatorio, expuso la necesidad de que el Estado Nacional recupere los instrumentos normativos básicos, para garantizar el acceso universal a las telecomunicaciones. Las desigualdades que potencia el llamado libre mercado se expresan efectivamente en imposibilidades, en particular por cuestiones económicas, de que numerosos asociados y vecinos no puedan ver garantizados sus derechos de acceso y conectividad.”

“Esta Cooperativa Popular ha sido durante sus 90 años de historia, una defensora tenaz de los principios de acceso universal de toda la comunidad al conjunto de los servicios considerados esenciales, de calidad y a precios razonables. Así lo ha demostrado, a medida que fue desarrollando y extendiendo todos sus servicios.Durante las últimas décadas, nuestra cooperativa ha sido protagonista en cada una de las luchas por modificar la legislación relacionada con las telecomunicaciones a favor de la pluralidad y el derecho a la información y sobran ejemplos, incluso con repercusión nacional, sobre las consecuencias positivas para los bolsillos populares de la presencia de la CPE en este mercado de competencia.”

“Resta conocer la profundidad del cambio que se vislumbra, que ojalá signifique la posibilidad cierta y a corto plazo, de acceder al espectro radioeléctrico que nos permita, de una vez por todas, tener la opción de una Telefonía Móvil Cooperativa.”
