En junio, Argentina se convertirá en el primera país de América Latina en producir la vacuna Sputnik V contra el coronavirus. La noticia fue dada a conocer ayer luego de que el laboratorio Richmond informara a la Bolsa de Comercio el envío de más de 21.000 dosis producidas en territorio nacional a Moscú para evaluar su aprobación.
De esta forma, el Richmond producirá, desde su planta en Malvinas Argentinas, provincia de Buenos Aires, dosis de la vacuna desarrollada por el Instituto Gamaleya a la cual llamará Sputnik V.I.D.A. por el nombre del proyecto con el cual el laboratorio presidido por Marcelo Figueiras buscó financiamiento económico: “Vacuna de Inmunización para el Desarrollo Argentino“.
Así, a partir de junio, el Richmond producirá un millón de vacunas al mes para ir incrementando el número a cinco millones mensuales e ingresando al selecto grupo de países productores de vacunas: China, Estados Unidos, Alemania, Bélgica, India, Reino Unido, Holanda, Rusia, Suiza, Corea del Sur, Brasil y Sudáfrica.
En otro tweet, publicaron una foto de la ministra de Salud de la Nación, Carla Vizzotti, junto a la asesora presidencial, Cecilia Nicolini, en el laboratorio Richmond y con dosis de la Sputnik V.I.D.A. en la mano.
