En Resistencia, Chaco, el gobierno debió cerrar los barrios donde habita la comunidad Qom, luego de que esta semana se dispararan los casos de coronavirus.
El Barrio Toba, en el cual habitan un gran número de aborígenes Qom, forma parte del Gran Toba, una vasta área compuesta por otros cinco grupos habitacionales más. Esta semana se convirtió en el epicentro de la pandemia chaqueña por el aumento de portadores del virus: el 27 de abril se reportó el primer caso y el lunes 11 de mayo ya eran 26, que pasaron a 79 el miércoles 13, y a 90 este viernes.
El Toba, es un barrio situado en la periferia de Resistencia, a un costado de la ruta 11 (que lleva a Buenos Aires); en los últimos años ha ido creciendo por los asentamientos de Qom, por lo que se han creado otros “barrios” dentro del mismo asentamiento, como Chilillí y el Camalote.
“Les decimos a los positivos que no sabemos cuántos más son, que no salgan; hablamos con los familiares y a veces terminamos peleando pero ya no sé qué más hacer”, describe el presidente de la comisión vecinal Antonio Patricio.
Ante el caso de un internado que se retiró del hospital y regresó a su casa planteó que es necesario endurecer medidas. “Que venga Gendarmería o el Ejército para aislar a los positivos y santo remedio”, pidió ayer en declaraciones a La Radio 104.7 luego de narrar la impotencia que le da ver a jóvenes paseando por las calles en plena restricción nocturna.
La preocupación es mayor en torno a las altas voluntarias. Esta semana Alfredo Segundo, del barrio Chilillí, y Baltazar Navarro, del Toba, rechazaron la internación y solicitaron el alta voluntaria en contra del informe de los médicos. Debieron ser trasladados en ambulancia y permanecen con custodia policial en la puerta de su vivienda, para asegurarse de que cumplan con el aislamiento.
El último parte del Ministerio de Salud de Chaco, del sábado a la tarde, indica que se reportaron 556 casos positivos de COVID-19 en el territorio provincial, de los cuales 254 recibieron el alta médica definitiva y se registraron 27 fallecimientos. Además, el número total de personas diagnosticadas con dengue es de 2.371
