Las ventas en supermercados cayeron 5,8% en febrero

Las ventas en los supermercados durante febrero bajaron 5,8% en relación a igual mes del año pasado, según informó el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos (Indec). Por su parte, la facturación en los grandes centros comerciales o shoppings retrocedió en febrero 32,4% frente a igual período de 2020, el último mes antes del inicio de la etapa Covid con la puesta en marcha de medidas de aislamiento.

Además, el organismo oficial informó que las ventas en los autoservicios mayoristas marcaron una mejora de 24% en la medicion a precios contantes respecto a doce meses atrás, al sumar un monto total de $3.955,3 millones.

Durante el segundo mes del año, las ventas a precios corrientes en las distintas sucursales de los supermercados ascendieron a $ 89.595 millones, lo que representó un 96,4% del total, y mostró un aumento del 25,3% respecto a igual mes del 2020. En tanto, las ventas a precios corrientes por el canal online sumaron $ 3.370 millones, lo que representó un 3,6% del total, con un incremento del 243,9% respecto al mismo mes del año anterior.

El aumento en las ventas “on line” está vinculado desde el año pasado a la decisión del público de evitar acercarse a los salones y cuidarse de un eventual contagio de Covid 19.
 

Por su parte, en lo que respecta a los grandes centros comerciales, el Indec precisó que las ventas totales a precios corrientes en febrero alcanzaron un total de $16.731,8 millones, con un incremento nominal de 6,0% respecto al mismo mes del año anterior. Las ventas totales a precios constantes, en febrero sumaron un total de $3.989,7 millones, con una disminución de 33,3% interanual.

Respecto al tipo de pago, el Indec precisó que las ventas a precios corrientes realizadas en efectivo ascendieron a $ 30.097 millones, equivalente al 32,4% del total, con un aumento de 25,5% respecto a febrero de 2020. Las operaciones con tarjeta de débito en febrero sumaron $ 26.093 millones, un monto que explicó el 28,1% de las ventas totales en los supermercados, con un alza del 39,7% respecto al mismo mes del año anterior.

Por último las realizadas mediante “otros medios de pago” -que incluye a tarjetas de créditos y tickets- ascendieron a $ 4.663 millones, lo que representó el 5 % del total, con un aumento del 79,9% respecto a doce meses atrás.

En las ventas totales a precios corrientes, durante febrero de 2021, los grupos de artículos que marcaron aumentos más significativos respecto al mismo mes del año anterior fueron “Electrónicos y artículos para el hogar”, 49,9%; “Verdulería y frutería”, 43,2%; “Carnes”, 41,5% y “Bebidas”, 36,6%.
