Insólito: Votaron para renombrar al parque “Campaña del Desierto” y ganó “Julio Argentino Roca”

Bahía Blanca se encuentra en una encrucijada desde que el municipio lanzó una propuesta para relanzar el parque Campaña del Desierto y convertirlo un espacio verde y que la misma sea libre de humo y de residuos.

Sin embargo, esta propuesta quedó a las sombras de otra: la de cambiarle el nombre al lugar. Y es que, si bien se decidió someter a votación la denominación del parque por lo que significa históricamente la campaña del desierto, la mayoría de los votantes se volcó para un lado inesperado.

En primer lugar, el nombre más votado para renombrar al parque fue el de Julio Argentino Roca, quien fue uno de los principales impulsores de lo que hoy se recuerda y reconoce como un plan de aniquilamiento de las sociedad indígenas.

En segundo lugar quedó el nombre que ya tiene y, en el último lugar del podio, el expresidente de la Nación, Raúl Alfonsín. Más atrás, “Barranca de los Loros”, “César Milstein y Raúl Favaloro”, “Libertad”, “Parque del Mirador” y, por último, dos nombres en lengua originaria: “Güenaken” y “Huecuvu Mapu”.

Tras estos resultados y la polémica, ahora la decisión quedará en manos del Concejo Deliberante y el desarrollo del proceso deberá esperar la resolución del mismo.
