Según un estudio realizado por el Instituto de Virología de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba confirmó con muestras de sangre de personas vacunadas con la Sputnik V que se generan en el organismo anticuerpos capaces de neutralizar la variante de coronavirus de Manaos.
Las muestras fueron tomadas en tres momentos diferentes: una previa a la colocación de la vacuna (en los casos en que fue posible), otra luego de la primera dosis de la vacuna (día 14) y una tercera luego de la segunda dosis (día 42 desde la 1er dosis).
El informe del estudio dictaminó que “al día 14, luego de la primera dosis de la vacuna, el 85,5% de la cohorte tenía anticuerpos contra el virus y al día 42, luego de recibir la segunda dosis, el 99,65% tenía anticuerpos, resultando negativo solo un individuo”.
En este sentido, los investigadores concluyeron que “los resultados demuestran la importancia de administrar la segunda dosis de la vacuna a quienes no han tenido exposición previa al virus.
“En todas las categorías evaluadas se observó neutralización de la variante Manaos”
Los investigadores observaron que “los anticuerpos mostraron una capacidad neutralizante significativamente mayor frente a la variante wild type que frente a la Manaos en los grupos de personas recuperadas de infección natural por SARS-CoV-2 y en las personas que habían sido vacunadas con dos dosis pero no tenían exposición previa al virus”.
Por otro lado, en el grupo vacunado que había tenido infección previa, la diferencia entre la capacidad de neutralización contra la variante wild type y la de Manaos “no fue significativa”.
Por su parte, Kirill Dmitriev, director ejecutivo del Fondo de Inversión Directa de Rusia (RDIF), recordó que:
“Argentina fue el primer país latinoamericano en utilizar ‘Sputnik V’ para la vacunación de sus habitantes, y ahora vemos que el uso de este fármaco ayuda a proteger a la población no solo frente a las conocidas, sino también frente a las nuevas variantes del virus, incluida la brasileña”.
Según los resultados de los últimos estudios difundidos por el RDIF, la eficacia de la Sputnik V es del 97,6%; y que la vacuna no provocó alergias ni efectos graves.
