El transcurso de la quinta y última semana de marzo marcó una aceleración en los precios de los alimentos, y en el mes acumularon un incremento del 4,6%. En apenas siete días los precios que componen la canasta básica de alimentos mostraron subas superiores al 1%.
De acuerdo a un informe de la consultora LCG, en la quinta semana de marzo la suba de precios de los alimentos promedió 1,1%. Si tenemos en cuenta el índice promedio de las cinco semanas de marzo contra el de las cuatro semanas de febrero, la inflación mensual en alimentos asciende a 4,6%.
En esta oportunidad, los segmentos de bebidas y panificados fueron los rubros con mayor variación, seguidos por la carne y las verduras. El informe destacó que debido a su ponderación, carne fue el rubro de mayor incidencia.
- Productos de panificación, cereales y pastas: 1,7%
- Frutas: 0,9%
- Productos lácteos y huevos: 0,1%
- Condimentos y otros productos alimenticios: 1%
- Carnes: 1,2%
- Bebidas e infusiones para consumir en el hogar: 2,2%
- Azúcar, miel, dulces y cacao: 1,2%
- Aceites: 0,4%
- Comidas listas para llevar: -0,5%
- Verduras: 1,2%
Desde una perspectiva más amplia, el índice de alimentos y bebidas presentó una inflación mensual promedio de 4,3% en las últimas cuatro semanas y del 4,5% medida punta a punta en las mismas semanas. Estos niveles de precios dejan un arrastre del 2,3% para el mes de abril.
Cabe destacar que el 17% de la canasta relevada presentó aumentos de precio. El promedio de marzo se ubicó 4,3 puntos porcentuales por encima del
promedio de febrero.
En este aspecto, la consultora indicó: “La variación semanal de precios, si bien presentó mismo nivel que la semana anterior en términos de media ponderada , registró mayor volatilidad”.
