Avanza el fuego: hay focos activos en cinco provincias y ya fueron afectadas más de 40.000 hectáreas

Los incendios forestales siguen afectando a distintos puntos de la Argentina. Mientras se registran focos activos en Buenos Aires y San Luis, el fuego avanza sin control en la Patagonia, donde hay desaparecidos, evacuados, y los incendios ya arrasaron con miles de hectáreas.

Al 10 de marzo, según el reporte diario del Servicio Nacional de Manejo del Fuego (SNMF), se registran focos activos en cinco provincias del país: Buenos Aires, San Luis, Río Negro, Chubut y Neuquén.

A través del SNMF, el Gobierno desplegó recursos humanos, vehículos especiales, medios aéreos y equipos operativos para asistir a cada jurisdicción en el combate contra los incendios.

En Chubut, se dispuso el despliegue de 27 brigadistas, ocho autobombas y cuatro pick-up. En Río Negro, la provincia más afectada por el fuego -más de 12.000 hectáreas fueron afectadas por los incendios-, operaron 35 brigadistas convocados por el SNMF, un coordinador regional, ocho autobombas (dos pertenecientes al SNMF, tres del Servicio Provincial de Manejo del Fuego de Chubut y tres del Servicio Provincial de Manejo del Fuego de Río Negro), una pick-up, tres aviones hidrantes (uno con base en El Bolsón y dos con base en Bariloche) y dos helicópteros.

En San Luis desplegaron un avión observador, perteneciente al SNMF, y en Buenos Aires dispusieron el despliegue de un helicóptero.

Desde el 1° de enero hasta el 20 de febrero de 2021, se estima que la superficie afectada por incendios en todo el país supera las 40.500 hectáreas.

“El fuego es intencional y quien lo hizo sabía bien cómo hacerlo”

El ministro de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible, Juan Cabandié, se refirió a la situación en el sur del país y aseguró que el fuego fue intencional y que quien lo hizo “sabía muy bien cómo hacerlo”. En ese marco, adelantó la presentación de una denuncia penal y advirtió: “Si seguimos con esta tasa de deforestación, en 70 años nos vamos a quedar sin bosque nativo”.

El 95% de los incendios forestales son producidos por intervenciones humanas. 

Otras causas que prevalecen son el abandono de tierras, las fogatas y las colillas de cigarrillos mal apagadas. Además, los factores climáticos, como la falta de precipitaciones, las temperaturas elevadas, el bajo porcentaje de humedad, las heladas constantes y los vientos fuertes, inciden en la propagación del fuego.
