Un importante número de productos dirigidos a mujeres son casi 11% más caros que otros de igual utilidad, destinados a los hombres, lo que refleja la aplicación de un virtual “impuesto rosa” entre unos y otros, de acuerdo con un relevamiento de la consultora Focus Market.
El denominado “impuesto rosa” es el sobreprecio de un producto o servicio solo por estar dirigido al público femenino a través de diseños que parten de estereotipos de género.
Por ejemplo máquinas de afeitar un 11% más caras en su versión “para mujer”
En un estudio realizado por Focus Market en 515 puntos de venta de todo el país sobre 14 productos pertenecientes a 5 categorías diferentes, este año se relevó una diferencia promedio de 10,8% en los productos.
Entre los productos que se compararon, se encontró la mayor diferencia en una colonia para mujer que se vende un 20% más cara que el producto para hombre de la misma marca; y casos de máquinas de afeitar un 11% más caras en su versión “para mujer”.
En 2020, la diferencia promedio había sido superior, situada en 12,3%, mientras que en 2019 se había ubicado en 11,3% y en 2018 en 13,7%, de acuerdo con el registro que lleva la consultora.
Las senadoras Cristina Fiore (Salta) y Lucila Crexell (Neuquén) presentaron en 2018 proyectos para evitar prácticas abusivas y dar un trato equitativo y no discriminatorio a los consumidores, sin establecer diferencias basadas en el género de los consumidores.
