Luego de que la Justicia identificó al enfermero que había robado el anillo del fallecido ex presidente Carlos Saúl Menem, el hombre lo entregó hace minutos, según informaron fuentes allegadas a la familia.
La noticia se conoció luego de los investigadores identificaron a “Mauro”, empleado de la empresa Swiss Medical que entre el 6 y el 15 de diciembre trabajó en la casa de Menem, ubicada en Echeverría al 3500, en Belgrano. El gran problema es que “Mauro”, que en realidad así es como le dicen pero se llama Mauricio, fue difícil de encontrar. La Policía no pudo llevarle la notificación de la citación a indagatoria porque el domicilio que le brindó a la empresa en la que trabajaba no era real.
Sus otros dos compañeros ya fueron convocados a declarar el 26 y 27 de febrero ante la Fiscalía Nacional en lo Criminal y Correccional N° 42, a cargo de Carlos Arturo Velarde. El propio “Mauro” fue el que avisó que tenía el anillo de oro con piedra de ónix que Menem usaba en su dedo anular izquierdo y cuando se lo sacaba lo guardaba en el estuche de sus anteojos.
El 18 de febrero, después de que la noticia apareciera en los medios, se lo contó a un primo, que a la vez se lo comentó a otro que es agente de la Policía Bonaerense. Quería saber cómo podía hacer para devolverlo sin quedar detenido.
Ante esta situación, el agente habló con su superior. Su jefe le pidió pruebas y el policía mostró los chats. El oficial se volvió a conectar con su primo. Pero era tarde, le respondió que el enfermero ya había descartado la joya.
La denuncia por el robo de la alhaja la hizo Zulemita el 17 de diciembre pasado en la comisaría 14B de la Policía de la Ciudad, en Palermo. La mujer advirtió el faltante de la joya junto al enfermero personal del ex mandatario. No obstante, el hecho tomó repercusión pública el 17 de febrero.
La hija del ex presidente advirtió el faltante de la joya durante la internación de su padre en el Sanatorio de Los Arcos. Le habían pedido al custodio que fuera a buscar los anteojos a su casa y cuando Menem abrió el estuche notó que no estaba su anillo.
Ante esa situación, el enfermero titular decidió ir hasta la casa de Menem y revisó entre sus pertenencias. No solo no lo encontró, sino que descubrió que también faltaba un celular del ex presidente. Zulemita decidió hacer la denuncia.
El caso quedó a cargo de la División Robos y Hurtos de la Policía de la Ciudad, que pudo ubicar la desaparición del anillo entre el 6 y el 16 de diciembre. Los investigadores repararon en dos datos: que Menem lució su anillo en el anular de su mano izquierda por última vez en público en la sesión del Senado del 4 de diciembre y que el 5 el enfermero de siempre del ex presidente se tomó vacaciones. Lo reemplazaron dos enfermeras y un enfermero de la prepaga, que empezaron a trabajar el 2 para hacer el traspaso.
El fiscal Velarde ordenó tres allanamientos en las casas de cada uno de los enfermeros nuevos, dos en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires y uno en Provincia. Primero advirtieron que uno de ellos había mentido con su domicilio. En las otras viviendas no encontraron nada.
Los investigadores revisaron también las imágenes de las cámaras de seguridad de la casa de Menem entre el 6 y el 17 de diciembre. Curiosamente esos días los aparatos no funcionaron, según informaron fuentes del caso a este diario.
Menem falleció el domingo 14 de febrero a los 90 años. Olga Wornat, su biógrafa, recordó más de una vez la historia de la joya. “Es el anillo con la piedra negra que le dio su madre antes de morir, y que él nunca se quitó. En rigor, lo perdió en 1989 y Zulemita le mandó a hacer uno igual. Tiene una piedra sagrada con poderes mágicos que perteneció a su tío, un hombre importante de Damasco. Un Akil, la rama aristocrática de la familia”, detalló la periodista y escritora.
