A pesar de que en los últimos días empezó a observarse un aumento de los contagios de coronavirus en muchas provincias que parecían tener controlado al virus y se teme una segunda ola, el Gobierno nacional confirmó este martes que el 3 de agosto volverán las clases presenciales en nueve distritos.
Se trata de las provincias de Catamarca, Corrientes, Formosa, Misiones, San Juan, Santiago del Estero, Santa Fe, San Luis y Tucumán, según confirmó el ministro de Educación, Nicolás Trotta.
El ministro indicó además que en las seis provincias patagónicas (incluida La Pampa donde no hay casos desde hace semanas) “estamos proyectando el regreso para fines de agosto y principios de setiembre”. La situación es muy distinta en zonas de Chubut, Río Negro y Neuquén, donde hay circulación comunitaria, de otras donde se controló al virus como Tierra del Fuego o Santa Cruz.
El funcionario aseguró que el retorno “será en forma escalonada, empezando por las localidades del interior que están en fase cinco y siguiendo con los grandes conglomerados”, siempre que estén libres de Covid-19. Ademas, la modalidad de clases será con asistencia alternada de los alumnos y oferta combinada, es decir presencial y virtual.
Otro criterio para ese escalonamiento fue la baja densidad poblacional, el menor uso de transporte y la ruralidad en los casos en que existen escuelas con plurigrados. A la vez, se focalizará la vuelta a las clases presenciales en aquellas escuelas en donde existan estudiantes con mayor necesidad de continuidad pedagógica por las limitaciones o ausencia de conexión a Internet.
La decisión se tomó durante una reunión virtual que Trotta mantuvo con los mandatarios de las nueve provincias. En la reunión Nación prometió el envío de 2300 millones de pesos para las 24 jurisdicciones para la compra de insumos de limpieza y para realizar obras en las escuelas y adecuarlas a los protocolos.

El retorno de las clases presenciales era un reclamo de varias provincias, algunas de las cuales se lanzaron de manera unilateral a confirmar el regreso, como Jujuy. Sin embargo, la provincia gobernada por Gerardo Morales tuvo que dar marcha atrás ante el crecimiento de casos y ahora ni siquiera está en la lista.
Las escuelas son un tema muy complejo para todos los países que pusieron en marcha la vuelta a la normalidad ya que en muchos lugares se detectaron focos de contagios. Un caso emblemático es Israel, donde algunos especialistas señalan la vuelta a clases como uno de los motivos del rebrote que hizo volver al país a la cuarentena dura.
