La ministra de Salud, Carla Vizzotti, informó este martes que el Gobierno evalúa un refuerzo de todas las vacunas contra el coronavirus. “Sabemos que es como una vacuna anti gripal, la inmunidad no es de por vida. Desde el principio se supo que se iba a necesitar algún refuerzo”, sostuvo la funcionaria.
Según precisó la ministra, la aplicación de una tercera dosis sería indicada, primero, para quienes cumplieron un año de completar el esquema. En esa línea, recordó que el personal de salud se empezó a vacunar en diciembre y que para febrero estarán cumpliendo los 12 meses.

Este lunes, un comité de expertos de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) recomendó que se administre una dosis adicional a mayores de 60 años y personas “moderada o gravemente inmunodeprimidas” que hayan sido vacunadas con Sinopharm -que se aplica en nuestro país- y Sinovac. Al respecto, Vizzotti señaló que en la Argentina “la mayoría de los que tienen Sinopharm son menores de 50”.
“Vamos a evaluar antes de fin de año la necesidad de un refuerzo en 2022, tal como fuimos haciendo escalonadamente en función de los riesgos”, aseguró.
