El Ministerio de las Mujeres, Políticas de Género y Diversidad Sexual de la provincia de Buenos Aires denunció ante la Defensoría del Público de la Nación, que en un capítulo de la nueva temporada de la saga “Dragon Ball Súper”, se detectó “violencia simbólica”. Ante esta situación, el canal Cartoon Network LA (Latinoamérica) decidió sacar del aire el programa,
“El episodio que se vio en las pantallas de Argentina reproducía el ejercicio de violencia sexual por parte de un mayor hacia una menor, en un contexto de aceptación social, en el que se naturalizaba la vulneración de una niña“, informó en un comunicado el Ministerio de las Mujeres.
Además, en la nota presentada por el ministerio bonaerense se enfatizó que este tipo de contenido transmitido en un canal que se ubica como “la primera señal infantil de cable y alcanza a las y los niños de entre 4 a 11 años con cable (según datos IBOPE Media Argentina), configura un acontecimiento que las y los expone a la violencia simbólica“.
En este contexto, por indicación de la ministra Estela Diaz, la subsecretaria de Políticas contra las Violencias Flavia Delmas y la directora provincial de Planificación y Gestión Comunicacional Lucía García Itzigsohn, manifestaron en el escrito la preocupación por la difusión de contenido no apto para el público infantil.

El episodio que se hizo referencia en la denuncia, es uno en donde el personaje del Maestro Roshi, le pide a uno de sus alumnos que le permita utilizar los “servicios” de una de sus mascotas mágicas, la cual puede transformarse físicamente.
En ese momento le aclara que lo que quiere es “que se convierta en una hermosa jovencita”. Y se justifica diciendo “mi punto débil son mis pensamientos pervertidos que deseo superar”. A continuación, el cerdo Woolong hace un recuento de otras situaciones en donde sufrió abuso por parte del hombre.
Por su parte, desde la Defensoría del Público además de esta denuncia, ya había recibido otras en donde se manifestaba la misma problemática. Es por ello que estableció un diálogo con todos los actores procurando generar espacios de intercambio, reflexión, y propuestas de reparación simbólica de los derechos afectados.
En tanto, la Dirección de Análisis, Investigación y Monitoreo de este organismo analizó el contenido de este capítulo de la serie infantil e identificó que contiene una escena de abuso y sometimiento por parte de un varón adulto mayor hacia una adolescente.

Mientras tanto, desde Cartoon Network como desde Warnermedia se mostraron receptivos en relación a los señalamientos de las audiencias, manifestaron gran preocupación por la emisión del capítulo y reconocieron el error en la secuencia de programación.
Asimismo, informaron algunas de las medidas adoptadas a partir de este hecho, entre las cuales señalaron la decisión de sacar la tira completa del aire. A su vez expresaron que se editará la totalidad de la serie, por si en un futuro se decidiera volver a ponerla al aire.
