La entrega de la unidad odontológica móvil se efectuó en la ciudad de Buenos Aires en el Ministerio de Salud de la Nación el 3 de febrero, de manos del ministro Ginés González García, destinada al Ministerio de Salud de La Pampa.
La decisión del Ministerio de Salud de la Nación fue celebrada por los funcionarios pampeanos que, en la voz del ministro Mario Rubén Kohan, resumió el “agradecimiento al ministro Ginés González García por este gesto para con nuestra Provincia, ya que sumamos un recurso fundamental para la atención ambulatoria de los y las pacientes pampeanos”.
Se trata de la donación de un vehículo tipo furgón marca Mercedes Benz, Sprinter 515, del año 2017 con 3000 kilómetros de uso.
Teresita Moreno, jefa del Departamento de Odontología de la Provincia, manifestó a la Agencia Provincial de Noticias (APN) su gran satisfacción por esta recepción de un vehículo impecable. “Esta unidad odontológica lleva el fin de reforzar lo que ya veníamos haciendo con una unidad muy antigua y con la cual no podíamos ingresar a algunas localidades del oeste pampeano”. Es una unidad más chica, más ágil y por lo tanto se podrá tener mayor acceso.
Señaló que la Provincia tiene a cargo alrededor de 50 escuelas hogares a las cuales llegar con la atención odontológica. “Durante 2020 no se realizó este recorrido, pero estimo que este año retomaremos la atención”.
Moreno detalló el funcionamiento del esquema de atención. La primera semana viaja el odontólogo con la asistente odontológica, con una computadora para efectuar la carga de todos los pacientes y se revisa por zona. Ejemplificó que “durante un mes viajamos a cuatro localidades ubicadas en cercanía, sabiendo cuanta cantidad de pacientes hay y la necesidad odontológica. De esta manera podemos saber si el móvil estará dos, tres o cuatro días”.
Las localidades que se visitarán serán primero las del oeste, “ya que en el invierno es más difícil llegar y trabajar con el frío. Ya tenemos un esquema armado de visitas para toda la provincia de La Pampa. Al contar con esta Sprinter, ahora podremos llegar a Chos Malal o Limay Mahuida, lugares al que nunca pudimos acceder”.
Las actividades que se desarrollan desde el área de Odontología, en las escuelas hogares, no solo se realiza la atención de niños y adolescentes, sino también se les brinda talleres a los docentes y alumnos, en cuanto a fomentar los hábitos de cepillado, sobre qué hacer frente a un traumatismo odontológico y además se les entrega un kit de higiene personal. “Nuestro equipo se instala en la escuela, desayunamos y almorzamos con ellos. Primero se realiza una motivación preparando a los niños para el tratamiento odontológico y luego se comienza a trabajar”, detalló.
Un capítulo especial es la Colonia Menonita. “Solamente permiten el ingreso al móvil odontológico. Nos manejamos desde Guatraché, salimos temprano a la mañana y estamos durante todo el día. Allí atendemos todo tipo de pacientes y es un desafío el poder lograr que comiencen y acepten la atención odontológica”.
Teresita Moreno se mostró con mucho entusiasmo y compromiso con la llegada de este equipamiento, manifestando su agradecimiento tanto al Gobierno provincial como nacional, para de esta forma poder atender de demanda odontológica de La Pampa.
