Pochy, de Sangre de Raíz: “Me hubiera gustado tener esta banda a los 20”

Cuando en 2014 eran pocas las mujeres al frente de una banda rock, Pochy Roldán irrumpió en la capital pampeana. La voz del power trío habla de la gesta familiar de Sangre de Raíz, la intención de tocar y llegar más allá de los limites de la provincia, las buenas y malas que vivió por ser mujer y rockearla en un ambiente varonil, y de cómo la banda se adaptó para sobrevivir en pandemia.

Del New Metal al Hardcore y viceversa hasta las  nuevas tendencias que marcan la época, ese es el camino por el que transitó y transita Sangre de Raíz, el persistente power trío nacido en la capital pampeana a mediados de 2014 que, curiosamente, no surgió con la única premisa de “tocar el finde en el bar”, si no con la intención primera de plasmar y  grabar lo que agitan semanalmente en El Rancho, su propia sala. “Grabar es dejar una huella”, sentencia en diálogo con Revista BIFE Silvina “Pochy” Roldán (36), la voz y artífice del grupo, quien deja en claro que las aspiraciones de SDR van más allá de armar fechas random en la ciudad. “Nunca la quisimos pegar acá”, suelta en medio de la charla y sostiene que además de entrar al estudio el objetivo siempre estuvo puesto en salir de la provincia y tocar en otras movidas. “Desde hace unos años nos propusimos viajar una vez al mes con la banda”.

Probablemente sea por los lazos que estrecharon en diferentes escenas a nivel nacional que la cuarentena dura del año pasado no los noqueó. Por el contrario, se mantuvieron en forma grabando, experimentando, realizando streamings gestados por bandas y medios del resto del país y también movidas solidarias. No optaron por el pataleo estéril de la queja y activaron. “La música no es solamente tocar en vivo, la adrenalina la tenés que sentir también cuando hacés un streaming para tres personas. Si tenés ganas de tocar y realmente lo sentís, tenés que adaptarte”, manifiesta la frontwoman de Sangre de Raíz.

Familia. Esa es la palabra que define al trío más allá de las etiquetas de los géneros musicales que ejecutan. Y lo es por más de un motivo. Sangre de Raíz es en parte producto de la unión entre Pochy y Lucas Saavedra, una relación de pareja de hace más de diez años que desencadenó hace 6 en lo que hoy es la banda. “Yo venía de  tocar en otros grupos, pero eran proyectos que apostaban a los covers. Y yo ya tenía cosas para decir, no me sentía del todo cómoda en ese plan”, dice Pochy, y confiesa: “me hubiese gustado tener esta banda a los 20”.  Al momento de convivir junto a Lucas, eligieron la habitación más grande de la casa para que sea la sala de ensayo. “Ahí él me dijo ‘listo, yo te grabo la bata, el bajo y empezamos’, y lo llamé a Juan, mi hermano, para que se sume con la guitarra”. Todo queda en casa. La familia unida lista para grabar, y luego rodar.

Además de la incorporación inmediata de su hermano en las  guitarras de SDR, la familia y la música nunca caminaron en veredas opuestas en la vida de Pochy. Su padre, “Pocho” Roldán, fue partícipe de esa primera generación del Rock Nacional por fuera de Buenos Aires, primero en Córdoba y luego en La Pampa, con “Los Violentos”, una de las primeras bandas de la provincia. Incluso tenían su propia sala/boliche: “la cueva de Los Violentos” en el centro santarroseño. “Mi viejo con los años fue cambiando de estilos, tango, folclore, pero la música en casa siempre estuvo”.

-Conviviste con la música desde siempre, ¿eso hizo que desde muy chica tuvieras el deseo de tocar?

Si bien vengo de familia de músicos, mi interés por hacer música fue más de grande. En mi casa estaban los instrumentos y los podía agarrar, tocar, tanto yo como mi hermano sin ningún problema. Pero no puedo decir que el interés estuvo presente cuando era chica, creo que eso se dio así porque había cierta presión lógica para que nosotros también seamos músicos.

–¿Cual fue el click, si es que lo hubo, que te hizo conectar de una manera activa con la música?

Creo que fue cuando le dije a mi viejo que quería tocar el bajo. El no lo dudó y me lo compró (risas).

Luego de las experiencias en bandas de covers, el paso necesario para expresarse de forma definitva, Pochy lo dio con Sangre de Raíz. “Los primeros temas de la banda los  tenia en el baúl guardados”, comenta, y admite que hay algo que la incomoda en esas primeras letras. “Shakespeare decía algo así como ‘si leo lo que he escrito en mi juventud, deseo morir’, bueno, no digo que me pase eso, pero esas primeras expresiones con la banda eran muy crudas. Cambie la forma de escribir. He intentado evolucionar en ese plano”.

A su vez, ser una chica y estar al frente en una banda no es algo común en Santa Rosa, y mucho menos en un grupo hardcore, motivo por el cual tuvo que sortear distintas experiencias debido a esa condición. “No puedo decir que acá en la movida local me haya sentido diferente por ser mujer, si me he sentido sola. Somos pocas las que hoy estamos al frente de una banda, y en 2014 prácticamente no había. Sí me ha pasado de vivir un par de situaciones, como cuando tocamos en el Club Argentino con Malón, y luego de presentarnos se le acerca un pibe a Lucas para decirle ‘está buena la banda, lástima que la cantante es una mujer’, esos tipos cerrados están en todos lados, pero a su vez he tenido situaciones gratificantes como la de tocar en Jake y que una chica se me acerque a decirme que no conocía la banda pero vino porque se enteró que tocaba una piba”.

Si bien el objetivo de SDR siempre fue pisar fuerte en las escenas unders del interior, nunca descuidó la movida local, y lo hizo llevando adelante lo que fue el “Festival Raicero”, una gesta que tenía como premisa convocar a una banda local y una banda del interior. “Nació como una necesidad de generar movida acá, fomentar la hermandad y la unión. En La Pampa está muy presente eso de agitar, pero no activar. Y la realidad es que si vos no generas desde una iniciativa propia nadie va a venir a darte algo”.

Hoy, con la imposibilidad de tocar en vivo en bares o pubs tanto acá, como en el resto del país, las únicas opciones viables de poder hacerlo –dependiendo de la situación sanitaria- es en ámbitos públicos, de lo cual Sangre de Raíz no reniega. “Nosotros queremos sonar bien cuando tocamos, y si tenemos la posibilidad de hacerlo en el Medasur como lo hemos hecho, es una oportunidad que no vamos a desaprovechar, lo mismo que en el Teatro Español, o en el CMC. Si nos tratan bien, accedemos”, sostiene Pochy.

La pandemia los sorprendió en pleno proceso de lo que será el disco oficial de la banda, luego de varios ep’s y singles publicados en estos 6 años. La frustración pandémica no contagió a la familia raicera, y se metieron de lleno en la postproducción del álbum y  publicaron tres temas durante el 2020:  “Dvasta2”, “Inmensidad” y “Hermandad”, este último con video incluído. “Durante la cuarentena no dejamos de hacer. Al ser familia pudimos estar unidos y seguir activando”.
