Messi, el intelectual de la modernidad

Mina Harker desenmascara a los falsos profetas y señala con violenta pluma a los verdaderos héroes del pensamiento, en particular ese Sócrates sarcástico que es Lionel Messi. Según Mina, nadie critica la cultura, la historia y la política como el astro del fútbol, que apelando a la ironía nos revela el fondo de lo humano: ¿Quiénes somos? ¿De dónde venimos? Y ¿a dónde vamos?

Legos y académicos comparten, entre muchas otras indigencias espirituales, la necesidad del intelectual. Los legos los llevan a la televisión y los académicos a sus aburridas y mezquinas conferencias, donde abundan los entremeses y se extrañan las lecturas. Y yo, que soy muy amiga de la pereza, no tengo prejuicios en que otros piensen por mí, aunque me dé un poco de asco tener que señalarle a la gente cuando tiene un Noam Chomsky o un Darío Z colgándole de los dientes como filamentos de naranja difíciles de camuflar.

Estoy de acuerdo con la figura del intelectual, digo, porque le hacen bien a la sociedad cuando por medio de la crítica mordaz y despiadada la explican y la transforman. Pero no puedo dejar de ver una metodología bizca en el proceso de selección. No veo que Darío Z, Noam Chomsky y el resto de la banda repercutan en los destinos humanos, especialmente desde que han dejado de educarse ellos mismos para impartir full-time sus insulsos descubrimientos mentales.

Por suerte, los verdaderos intelectuales, esos capaces de burlarse con magistral ironía de la cultura, la historia y la política están ahí, esperando a ser reconocidos. Me refiero, por supuesto, a los deportistas en general y a los jugadores de fútbol en particular. Messi es el Sócrates de nuestro moderno siglo XXI, nadie como él nos ha mostrado quiénes somos, de dónde venimos, a dónde vamos y cuáles son nuestros anhelos más profundos.

Messi gana sumas exorbitantes de dinero por cometer los actos más triviales de los que exista registro: hace un pase y los millones aumentan, hace un gol y nuestra imaginación es incapaz de calcular los números. Messi hace lo que un intelectual debe hacer, servir de espejo a la sociedad. Con agudísima sorna e inteligencia (porque para darse cuenta hace falta interpretarlo dos veces), Messi nos dice que somos brutos, primitivos y que nuestra alegría depende del resultado de un equipo de fútbol A DIEZ MIL KILÓMETROS DE DISTANCIA, EN OTRO CONTINENTE. Messi no necesita pipas humeantes, papers, ni extensas bibliotecas para indicarnos lo decadentes que somos, que nos gobiernan pasiones elementales. Él enseña, superando a Odiseo en ingenio y a Cervantes en perspicacia, que todas nuestras inquietudes sobre la vida, la muerte, el amor y el tiempo en el fondo son pura pose.

Los filósofos y los escritores hoy son como monjas pudorosas que no se atreven a mostrar sus cuerpos, andan como ciegos en un laberinto de discusiones bizantinas, bien guardados de la transgresión y de caer en lo políticamente incorrecto. En cambio, Messi es la risa demoníaca e infernal de Quevedo, que sorteando cualquier reparo moral condena con hedonismo nuestros pobres vicios. Sin abrir la boca o publicar una página, Messi nos explica mil veces mejor que Foucault los aparatos de represión del Estado, la corrupción, el origen de las riquezas, el proceso de construcción de fama, la arbitrariedad de los signos, el machismo y el colonialismo. Messi es tan irreverente y subversivo que no tiene problema en mostrarse en las redes sociales navegando en yates, descansando en sus hoteles y conduciendo autos tan veloces que ni los rayos de Zeus podrían darles alcance. Lo hace sonriente y tranquilo porque sabe que ha cumplido el rol sagrado de la crítica, ya está. ¿Qué más le podemos pedir? Todo lo que Messi tiene se lo merece, no porque corra rápido y meta goles, sino porque es el único que se ha atrevido a decirnos la verdad a la cara.

La gente le ha dedicado himnos y loas que deberíamos entonar cada mañana cuando izamos la bandera; únicamente los profesores, siempre un paso atrás de la inteligencia, insisten en no reconocer el respeto que le debemos. No pueden asumir que sus libros son inocuos y ridículos y que poco tienen que ver con la realidad. Pero Messi, Messi ejerce la ironía pura y la ironía abre la realidad de un zarpazo; alcanza con escucharlo hablar un momento para saber qué clase de animales somos.

Por eso, lector, si aspiras a la autoconsciencia y a descubrir las causas primeras que gobiernan el presente, los males históricos y metafísicos de la sociedad, te recomiendo abandonar de inmediato los libros, las universidades y los círculos inofensivos a los que asisten Darío Z y Noam Chomsky. Si tu intención es salir de la Matrix y comprender con dolor y angustia, pero con fantástica lucidez qué pasa realmente, lo que debes hacer es prender la televisión y ver los partidos del Gilles Deleuze argentino.
